Technical Feasibility & Development Appraisal

Test before you commit

Friel Welch supports clients at the earliest stages of development, validating the technical and commercial viability of sites, schemes and acquisitions before significant time or capital is committed.

Our approach

Testing whether a scheme can be delivered

We go beyond traditional feasibility studies, testing proposals against the practical realities of delivery. Our assessment considers structural strategy, building services, fire and building safety requirements, statutory approvals, site constraints, procurement, programme and cost.

Working alongside the architect and wider consultant team, we challenge early assumptions and sense check the project brief against regulation, buildability, cost and programme. Identifying constraints and dependencies at this stage reduces uncertainty and helps avoid costly surprises later.

We bring our findings together in a clear, evidence-led appraisal, setting out the technicalviability of the proposal, indicative costs, programme implications, key delivery risks and recommended next steps. The result is a practical decision making tool that enables clients to proceed, revise or pause a project with confidence.
